2ND QUARTER E-PORTFOLIO (WEEK 3)

 

WEEK 3

DISCUSSION 1:

Based on the discussion video in WEEK 2 about commitment, answer the following questions (5-8 sentences only per question).

1. Why is COMMITMENT important in relationships?

2. What is "CLOSURE" in a relationship? Why is it important?

3. If you were in a situation similar to the girl, how will you move on?

1. Commitment is investing yourself to someone you love. It is very

important because it maintains a healthy relationship. Without

having a commitment feels like holding a hot pot without gloves. All

you are doing is hurting yourself due to lack of assurance. It is very

significant because it brings safety and assurance of feeling to each

of you.

2. Closure is when a relationship has come to an end. It is done by both

parties communicating to each other. It is important to have a

closure because in this way, both of you will have a chance to

properly clear things out. It is also important because you can talk

about what will happen after your breakup. It is also the chance to

talk about how will you interact with each other, would you treat

yourselves strangers or just be casual, etc?

3. Of course it will take a lot of time to move on. Moving on from a

broken promise is too hard to accept and takes a lot of courage to do

so. If I were in her position, to be honest, I would feel depressed and

so sad because it broke my heart so much. I will take my time to heal

by keeping myself busy doing everything that will make me feel

happy and right. I will also focus on the things that I should be

focusing more, and do everything that will help me become a better PERSON

DISCUSSION 2:

If it is for love, it is worth the wait. Her guy best friend is always there for her through happiness or sorrow. If I were him, I will confess my feelings for her in the right time. No matter how the results will end up, I will still choose to stay in our relationship (friendship). Maybe one day she will realize that I'm the one for her, or maybe not, no matter it is, I will be by her side and keep on supporting her for everything that makes her happy because that's more than enough for me.

REFLECTION:

1. Someone like you by Adele is about letting go. The song is a story that showed that her loved ones is now happy with someone else, but her. The chorus part is which I believe to be the main part of the song. It has the lyrics: "never mind I'll find someone like you". I believe that it means she will just try to find someone just like him. It leaves a sad message that she hasn't moved on yet since she seems obsessed by the thought that she wants to relive the same memories she had with him.
2. I believe it is the line: "I wish nothing but the best for you too". It gave me that impact that I was moved by what she said. It may be depicted as a sad message, it is the best decision. She just accepted the truth and tried to move on. We can learn from this line and choose to be matured and be wise by just accepting and facing the truth for your own development.
